On the 1st of April I met David who has autism who explained to me the work of the National Autistic Society. He is campaigning for those with autism to receive the services they need and raise awareness of the issues of autism with the public.
He was very interesting to listen to and made his points well with practical suggestions for how we could all help. e.g. Holding an afternoon tea party raising awareness, fund raising and connecting the public with Autistic society members.
Should I be elected I have agreed to join the All Party Parliamentary Group for Autism and make this statement on social media,
“I’m standing with the people in my constituency living with autism to make sure they receive the everyday support they need.”
